Story Mode Spoiler-Avoiding Event Guide

This page is under construction for the new version of my site. The guide is now updated to the new format, though there will still probably be changes.

Latest event Day converted to new format:
47 (0.8.2 COMPLETE)

Preface

This guide is meant to assist the player in seeing every Story Mode-specific event whilst avoiding unwanted spoilers and providing hopefully unintrusive information.

I did my best to include un-spoiling or least-spoiling info up front, and increasingly reveal info as you go down the list of drop-down SPOILER menus.

Additional information for certain topics can be found on the Glossary page. (Old version, WIP)

Some important notes before starting
  • TIME is the exact in-game time that the event starts.

  • If TIME has a '+' after it, the event starts at TIME and goes on forever, everyday and every event onward... or its end-time is unknown/unexplained. Technically a permanent/semi-permanent change of game state.

  • DURATION will only be for time-sensitive events that can expire. If this box is filled, it's one with a time limit.

  • TIME and DURATION will always be In-Game Time by default. If it's Real Time, it will be listed as 'IRL'. (The first event is a good example)

  • LOCATION refers to wherever you need to be. While this also technically refers to the location of the event itself, this is typically meant to tell you where to go.

  • If a box is empty, it means there's no specific answer, likely meaning 'anywhere', 'anytime', etc.

  • REQUIREMENTS refers to what you need to do to trigger the event or to proceed through it. This may include optional actions/items if you wish to affect the event or world in some way.

  • Some Days can have more than one Story Mode event, indicated as "Event # / #".

  • SOLUTIONs will tell you how to complete the event, in case you know what's happening but not how to proceed. Technically a mini-spoiler.

  • Some SOLUTIONs will be paired with SPOILERs (i.e. "SPOILER 2 / SOLUTION"); this means the SPOILER is bound to the SOLUTION, and is unavoidable.

The breaker in your basement will shut off.

This is the game’s way of showing you what happens if a transformer runs out of power, without actually draining them.

SOLUTION

Head downstairs to reset the switches.

(In rare circumstances: You may have actually fully drained a transformer before, during, or after this event. If that happens, look outside at the main power junction, look at which power line is electrifying, and follow that to the downed transformer to fix it.)

SPOILER 2 / SOLUTION

Leaving food here, especially unopened Shrimp Packs, will raise your reputation with the Arirals.

Taking anything from this location, including things you give them yourself, will reduce your reputation with them.

These actions will affect how your game plays out for the rest of the story, including but not limited to events & perceived difficulty. They can of course be affected later.

SPOILER 3

Touching and/or reading the book triggers the event, in which an Ariral will bash in the door and try to slap you.

SPOILER / SOLUTION

Either holding the door for a while or putting a pack of shrimp in front of the door will stop the attack, the latter of which will improve your reputation.

You can also pre-empt this encounter by leaving the shrimp in front of the door before reading.

The large pyramid Rozital from the previous signal will have landed, and it will begin to collect yellow wisps across the compound. The Rozital will remain until all yellow wisps are collected, then it will depart. When each one is collected, yellow wisps can no longer spawn for the rest of the game.

The Rozital is non-hostile, and is likely the one that sent the obelisk warning of the wisps.

ACHIEVEMENT SPOILER

A missable achievement is possible:

You can be picked up by a yellow wisp, then as it's about to rip you apart, the Rozital can pick both you and the wisp up, removing it, and saving your life.

TR_3 will fail, baiting the player toward it.

Rozital Scouts will be in the area of TR_3 and will branch out across the compound, scanning everything in sight.

SPOILER 2 / SOLUTION

The Scouts will attempt to scan you.

Allowing them to will make them peaceful, as they're most likely looking for any remaining wisps that strayed.

Running from them will result in a run for your life, since they won't know what you are and will attempt to kill you.

O-Kerfurs will also be attacked. (See 'Kerfur' on the Glossary page for more details.)

Reaching The Hole proper will make the Kavotia cease fire and become non-hostile.

SPOILER 3 / ACHIEVEMENT SOLUTION

An Igetis Rozital is 'repairing' The Hole.

At some point, the Igetis will toss a capsule. The capsule will usually fall into The Hole, or rarely, it may miss and land outside.

If you retrieve the capsule, the "YOINK" achievement will be given. This is true whether you catch it midair, or reach the bottom of The Hole later to pick it up.
